Jelena Trashkova:
"On the first day of our visit to Poland we stayed in Warsaw on our way to Leszno. We went on a nice excursion about the old town by tourist mini-automobile. And in the evening we arrived to our destination. Students went to their families and teacher checked into a hotel.
The next morning after the greeting words from the headmistress of Wschowa school children presented their works on “Respect in Sport” and “Ten tips for staying fit”. From our team Jelena Dobrovolskaja and Vladimir Liepa were responsible for doing this. And they coped with it quite good.
When the presentations have been done and the mobility was opened there was a ‘station game’ outside connected with the sightseeing and main historical places of Wschowa. There were several stations where students had to pick up parts of a puzzle and in the end to guess what the puzzle means. It was a great opportunity to visit different ancient places of the town and to learn its history and traditions. After the game children went home to have their lunch and teachers were invited to the restaurant in the ancient castle of Wschowa with traditional Polish food.
In the evening it was suggested to visit a Speedway, a special stadium where motorcyclists train and prepare for the competitions, and to prove oneself in the park “Linowy Tarzan”, where children were climbing the tress and overcoming different challenges. That was terrific! After these activities children went to have their dinner and to play bowling and teachers spend a wonderful evening eating and chatting in a small cozy café in Leszno.
Day two started from the road to Poznan. We had a walk around the Old Town, where we watched the Bell Goats on the main tower of the Old Town and visited the main cathedral. Later we had a shopping in one of the biggest shopping centers and a lunch there. After the lunch we went to the sport grounds to play mini golf and to sledge. The day was quite long and full of sport activities.
On the third day there were offered plenty of things to do. Everything started from the football game similar to the table football but with real people playing. Later there was a race between Greek, Polish, British and Estonian teams.
After a little break students voted for the best mascot that would represent the project itself best. Our mascot was made by Timur Valitov, Svetlana Vinokurova, Alice Efindiefa and Ksenia Belajeva. It was made in a way to show equality, unity and friendship between all the participants of the project. But unfortunately the Greek team won with only one vote ahead. So we’ve got the second place.
Later everybody played different table games in the assembly hall: Scrabble, Chess, Checkers, Jenga, and Twister; while representatives of each country went shooting. After this there was a meeting for the teachers, where we discussed plans for the next mobility and advantages and disadvantages of this one, and students went home to change their clothes for the farewell party.
In the evening we enjoyed the splendid dinner at school where traditional Polish food and other appetizers were served. The best sport teams of the day were named; we thanked each other and gave presents. Students enjoyed dances in the disco till midnight.
In the morning of the next day we went back home…
The main advantage of this trip was the opportunity to communicate, learn the traditions and ways of life of other countries straight from the representatives of these countries, and be as one competing and overcoming the challengies. Children had a great chance to practice their English. They leaned about healthy life style and how to keep fit. This was really useful as this problem is very essential and booming nowadays, especially among youngsters and primary school children. Students made lots of friends, tried different kinds of sports and activities, they learned to respect and value each other’s thoughts, ideas and interests."
